Tuesday 9/19/2018, Local Honey founder, Jay Bulluck will host the advanced students of Guilford Technical Community College Cosmetology program in touring the nationally acclaimed salon. Bulluck has served on the Advisory Board for the college for four years while mentoring and coaching the students. With help of Creative Director, Lauren Ladd; and Salon Director, Jordan Hodge,   the three will field questions, inspire students and follow up with potential apprentices. As the salon grows and executes it’s expansion program within the next 18 months, these breakaways will be critical to the growth of the shop and the evolution of the cosmetology program at GTCC.

Local Honey Hosts GTCC for Career Development

So, I’ve been grinding away for the past two days to produce an Aveda Talk lecture between guests from open to close at the salon. I’m really excited to share the stage with Jon Reyman and Van Council, two of my biggest influences in the business of hair. I’ll be discussing cross-pollination and how to market your brand through community synergy. I can’t wait to share this program that has been so powerful for Local Honey!

Beardsboro, North Carolina
Tuesday, May 03, 2016

To all of our loyal and dedicated bearded guests:It is with heavy heart that I must inform you all that I can no longer accept appointments for standalone beard trims and shapings. Unfortunately, the volume of that service combined with the pricing have become out of line with our budgeting structure. Now, here’s the good news: if you are booking a haircut with me, I can provide the beard shaping as an add-on service for the same price- which hasn’t changed in over three years! Local Honey will honor any remaining appointments, and we are happy to schedule you with an artist that has trained under my watchful eye.  Respectfully, Jay BulluckProprietor, Local ...

Local Honey Hosts GTCC for Career Development

“What makes Mark’s vision work is that he is, at his core, a classic. He understands the rules, protocol, and tradition. Then he turns it all on its ear. That, for me, is the hallmark of a genius.”—Nick Wooster “Mark is a rare gem that was found in the sediments of Southern soil. He has incredible taste and tone—and he’s a friend.” —Pharrell Williams “I’ve long admired Mark for his subversive take on preppy. He’s one of the few designers who is able to mash up tradition with the street references and conceptual ideas successfully.” —Andy Spade “Sometimes, especially in fashion, you just need a good ...

BADLANDS DRY SHAMPOO PASTE Cool cats everywhere sing the praises of dry shampoo. One part dry shampoo, one part styling paste and 100% badass on days when you want to add texture and hold to slept-on hair. Good for: Adding amazing second-day texture and absorbing oil. Its matte finish and reworkable hold mean no build up, just serious style.
